Does the keyword appear on the domain name of your web site? - Although it is not as important as it was before still provides some (little) advantage
Do you use sub domains to organize your files on your web site? No more than 2 levels deep from root

INCLUDE FILES
Your web site should include Sitemap - Less than 100 links
Your web site should include Robots.txt
Your web site should include Custom Error Pages (404, 500)
LINKS:
Inbound links to your web site should use relevant wording.
Absolute(http://www.octopusjuice.com/Webfolder/Webpage.html) or Relative referencing (Webfolder/Webpage.html)
There should be no broken links on your web site.
There should be consistent use of URL.
Outbound links to high ranking sites using your keyword.

Use keywords on Page naming
All web pages should be limited to a reasonable size. We recommend one topic per web page. A webpage should be over 5k and under 10k.
The site should have minimum 15 pages with 10 of them rich with content
The site should have ideally 100 web pages.
Use <H1>. <H2>, <H3>, <H4>, <H5>, <H6>...tags
Freshness of content provides significant gains in terms of SEO
Recommended keyword density: 5-20%
Recommended word count: 200-500 words in length

IMAGES:
The images on your web site should be named with keywords
The images on your web site should include descriptive alt tag using keywords
GENERAL:
The web pages should use clean HTML (preferably validate with html3.2)
Your web pages should supports If-Modified-Since HTTP header
Make sure that each web page is accessible by at least one static text link.
The site should resolve to www.url.com: (301 Redirect on the url.com)
